Newgate Technology, created in 1988, is a leading supplier of both healthcare systems and specialist data collection systems in the UK and Ireland.   We are based in Scotland and originally started life providing purely bar coding and data collection systems.

In 1993, however, we installed a factory-wide system for one of our commercial customers, IoLab, who made intraocular lenses and needed full production and sterilising traceability.  Later that year IoLab were heralded as having state-of-the-art manufacturing processes in Scotland and had a visit from members of the then Scottish Office. 

As a consequence of that visit we were asked whether we could modify the IoLab system for use in sterile services departments and our first healthcare system was born. Two years later we developed the world's first touchscreen theatre management system and from then went on to implement hospital systems throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.  

Recently, though, we signed an agreement for the distribution and support of our hospital systems throughout Australia and New Zealand and we look forward to helping our partners, TSI Group, build success in this new market.
